Beara Breaks

A different approach to an independent holiday! Using two great locations, this tour is less walking and more exploring. Enjoy three nights in Kenmare town, lively, colourful and four nights in the fishing town of Castletownbere. See island life on Bere Island, the copper mines of Allihies and spend time with the locals.
Itinerary:
| Day 1 |
Arrive in Cork airport and travel by bus to Kenmare, a market town at the end of the River Roughty. Explore this town and the lovely woodland walks in Reenagross. |

| Day 2 |
Follow the Beara Way from Cloonee Loughs to Kenmare town, along the base of the Caha Mountains and via the stunning corrie, Lough Inchiquin nature reserve. |

| Day 3 |
Transfer through the Macgillycuddy Reeks to view the Lakes of Killarney from Galway's Bridge. Follow the Kerry Way by Peakeen Mountain on the old Kenmare Road, through the quiet moorlands of Killarney National Park. This is a wonderful way to experience the famous Ring of Kerry. Walk back to Kenmare town. |

| Day 4 |
Transfer by public bus to Castletownbere. (not included in price) Your journey takes you across the Caha Mountains to Glengarriff and along the Beara coast through Adrigole to Castletownbere, Ireland's largest whitefish port. |

| Day 5 |
Climb above Castletownbere on the Beara Way and through the forested valley below Knockgour to reach the old mining town of Allihies. Transfer back to Castletownbere. |

Visit Bere Island by ferry, (not included in price) and walk any part of the 21km Beara Way on the island. This unique location is still inhabited with sheep farmers and fishermen and is a wonderful location overlooking Bantry Bay. The Waymarked loop walk from the ferry is 15km or 24km to discover the whole island |

Just a quiet day in the town, with the option to walk on the foothills to Derryminihan under Maulin Hill. |
