Terms and Conditions

It is always possible for something to go wrong during your holiday, for example the weather may be very bad, trains may be late, meals may be unsatisfactory, or the walks may be more strenuous than you expected. While some of these problems are beyond our control, we want you to have the most enjoyable holiday possible, and will try to improve things if we are told of any difficulties you have encountered. We provide a tour questionnaire with every tour for you to complete and we are constantly updating the information we have available. It is not often possible to physically walk the routes ourselves and they often may be changed due to natural or unnatural occurrences Please remember we are working with Mother Nature, who often demands patience!

The Terms and Conditions of Booking a Walking Tour

1. To reserve your tour, please send a deposit for €200.00 per person. Full payment is due six weeks before the start date of the tour. On receipt of your booking form, we will send you a booking confirmation, invoice and pre-tour information, which will give you a better idea of what's ahead. On receipt of full payment you will receive your full tour pack, complete with maps, route descriptions etc. For guided tours, we will confirm arrival details and meeting arrangements with your guide.

CANCELLATION POLICY…..We have to have one so here it is:
If you cancel your booking, the following charges are applicable:
42 + days deposit only
42-30 days 30% of tour costs
29-15 days 50% of tour costs
14-8 days 75% of tour costs
7 days or less no refund
If we cancel a booking we will refund any monies you have paid in full. Tailor-Made Tours Ltd. will not be responsible for related expenses such as non-refundable flight expenses or other arrangements outside of the tour programme. Reminder notices will be sent when the balance of your tour is payable, however, we will deem cancelled any tour not fully paid six weeks before the start date of the tour. If you withdraw from a tour before completion, Tailor-Made Tours Ltd. will not be liable for any refunds or expenses incurred.

2. Dietary needs- vegetarian, vegan, coeliac etc., are catered for by our accommodation providers as long as we have advance notice of same.
   
3. We advise the purchase of travel insurance to cover the period of your holiday. European visitors may bring a completed E111 form to cover any unforeseen medical expenses. Please note that our holidays are covered under insurance guidelines as normal activity. They do not require the use of specialised equipment and are not deemed as mountaineering activities.
   
4. Single travellers are welcome on our tours. A supplement applies which is detailed in each tour programme. Please be aware that single rooms may not be available in high season, July & August and will often be limited to a particular tour. We will endeavour to accommodate you. On guided tours, if you are travelling alone, we will try and match you with a suitable room-mate. If this is not possible, the single supplement will apply.
